Shining a Light on Solar: Our Collaboration with Volt Electrical

As the summer sun beams down across Suffolk, there's never been a better time to talk about the power of solar — quite literally. We recently had the pleasure of teaming up with Volt Electrical to capture a brilliant solar installation project at Ipswich YM Rugby Club, one that not only highlights the benefits of renewable energy but also showcases the role it can play in keeping community clubs running.

Volt Electrical approached us to help tell the story behind their latest installation — a solar power system designed to help the club reduce energy costs and become more sustainable. Like many grassroots sports clubs, Ipswich YM Rugby Club faces rising energy bills, especially when floodlights are switched on for evening training sessions and games. By harnessing solar energy during the day, the club can now offset those evening power needs — a win-win for both the environment and the club’s budget.

To bring this project to life, we combined our aerial drone services with dynamic ground filming, capturing both the scale of the installation and the heart of the club. From wide, sweeping shots of the glinting solar panels under a clear sky, to up-close interviews and real-world context, our goal was to not just show what Volt had done — but why it mattered.

We also worked closely with Volt to ensure the final videos were optimised for maximum impact across their social media channels. Whether it was Instagram Stories, LinkedIn posts, or Facebook reels, each piece of content was crafted in the right aspect ratio for the platform — allowing Volt to reach audiences where they’re most active, with content that looks and feels native. We also worked with them in creating a website banner video along with promotional photo's. See the video here

The response has been fantastic, and the project stands as a perfect example of how solar can empower local organisations — helping them stay switched on, both literally and figuratively.

We’re already in discussions about Volt’s next project, and we’re genuinely excited to collaborate with their team again. Their passion for renewable energy and support for the community aligns perfectly with our mission of telling meaningful stories through video.
