If you’ve worked with us, networked with us, or even just casually bumped into us recently, you’ve probably heard us shouting it from the rooftops: Offset Films is 10 years old!
Well, the big day is officially, officially here. And honestly, what better way to celebrate a decade of storytelling, creativity, and caffeine-fuelled deadlines than with a massive birthday cake?
To mark this massive milestone, we wanted to do something a little bit special (and a whole lot of fun) for our social media. So, we built a custom Lego film set, topped it with sparklers, threw in some confetti chaos, and hit record.
But because we’re film makers, we couldn’t just leave it at that. We also shot a tongue-in-cheek, "fly-on-the-wall" behind-the-scenes video that captures exactly how this quirky idea came to life—from the initial "what if we..." conversations to the tiny details that only total film nerds would obsess over.
Plotting and Planning in Wickham Market
The behind-the-scenes video features myself and my long-time creative partner-in-crime, Laurence, as we plot, build, and occasionally get side-tracked in our Wickham Market office.
We were joined by our ever-game camera wizard, Jeremy, who helped us bring this not-so-serious concept to life using the heavy-duty Blackmagic Ursa Mini 12K. We put a serious amount of love, effort, and high-tech gear into a video about a Lego cake—and we wouldn't have it any other way!

Why We Get a Bit Silly (The Method Behind the Madness)
While this whole project was a bit of fun—and, let’s be honest, an excellent excuse to eat cake—there’s a genuine method behind the madness.
Here at Offset, we’ve always believed that people buy from people. Whether you're a big creative agency or a brilliant local business right here in Suffolk, showing off the personalities behind your brand is everything. It builds trust, makes you relatable, and drives engagement.
This kind of light-hearted content humanises your company. It reminds your audience that behind the professional exterior, there are real, passionate humans doing the work (who happen to love cake just as much as you do).

Here’s to the Next Decade!
So, here’s a massive thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey over the last 10 years. Cheers to a decade of Offset Films, and to many more stories, silliness, and slow-motion celebrations in the future.
If you’re thinking about doing something a little bit different to showcase your own team’s personality, we highly recommend it. And if you need a friendly, local hand to bring that quirky idea to life... well, you know where we are!
