Here at Offset Films, nothing makes us prouder than using our creative skills to support the incredible organisations right here in our community. Recently, we had the absolute privilege of partnering with our local RSPCA branch on a vital new project—and the results were nothing short of amazing!
The RSPCA team came to us with a big goal: they needed to renovate an old, unusable outdoor area and transform it into a brand-new dog sensory garden. This specialised space would allow them to train and rehabilitate dogs in a safe environment. Due to a variety of factors, the shelter was seeing a steep rise in the number of dogs needing their help, and without this extra space, they were struggling to meet the demand.
The Brief: Creating a Connection with Potential Sponsors Through Video
To make the sensory garden a reality, the RSPCA needed to raise approximately £20,000 for the renovation work. They knew they needed a powerful tool to highlight this urgent need, show potential sponsors the current space, share the new designs, and introduce the wonderful dogs who would benefit from it.
Video was the perfect solution. Here is how we approached the project to maximise its impact:
Grounding the Audience in the Cause
Instead of just asking for donations, the video allowed the RSPCA to introduce potential sponsors directly to the shelter team and the dogs themselves. Seeing the real faces behind the charity instantly built an emotional connection, making viewers feel grounded in exactly what they would be supporting.
The "Create It Once" Efficiency Tool
One of the best things about video marketing is that it’s a high-yield asset. Instead of pulling staff away from their vital animal care duties to repeatedly pitch the project to individual donors, the RSPCA now had a beautifully polished film. They could show it off at local events, share it across their website and social media channels, and send it directly to corporate sponsors.
The team quickly found that anyone who watched the video was instantly much more receptive to deeper conversations about sponsorship.
Behind the Scenes: Strategic Planning and Filming
Because we were working in a busy animal shelter, our top priority during production was the welfare of the animals. We planned the shoot meticulously to ensure we didn't disrupt the other kennelled dogs or the daily site operations.
Dynamic Dog Filming: We spent about 15–20 minutes with each featured dog, using two separate camera rigs. This allowed us to capture dynamic, energetic movement safely and build an engaging, fast-paced story.
Perfecting the Script: We dedicated an hour to capturing the presenter's script on location, ensuring every single line was delivered perfectly alongside natural movement.
An Easy Edit: Thanks to our rigorous pre-production planning, the post-production process back at the Offset studio was a breeze. We seamlessly cut out the bad takes and wove in the heartwarming footage of the dogs.
A Resounding Success (and a Few Extra Happy Endings!)
We are absolutely thrilled to report that this video has been incredibly successful. By sharing it at events and online, the RSPCA successfully raised in excess of the £20,000 needed to bring the dog sensory garden to full completion! We cannot wait to pop back in once it's finished to see the dogs enjoying their new space.
But the success didn’t stop there. To help the RSPCA get the absolute most out of their production day, we also created individual, 40-to-50-second "spotlight videos" for the dogs we filmed. We are overjoyed to say that these short clips have already helped several of the dogs find their forever homes!
Ready to Smash Your Goals?
The power of video truly is amazing. With proper planning and creative execution, a single project can tell your story, build an emotional connection, and be used in multiple ways to drive your organisation forward. Without a Hollywood price tag.
Whether you are a local charity looking to fundraise or a business ready to hit your next big milestone, your local team at Offset Films is here to help.
