Spotlight on Local Business: Our Evening at the ISSBA Annual Spotlight Event

Last month we had the pleasure of attending the Ipswich & Suffolk Small Business Association (ISSBA) annual Spotlight Event—an evening designed to bring local businesses together, share experiences, and shine a light on the incredible variety of entrepreneurs across the region.

When ISSBA asked whether we’d like to take part, we didn’t hesitate. Never ones to turn down an opportunity for a bit of free publicity, we were delighted to say yes! Laurence happily volunteered to take the hot seat, offering insights into our business journey, while Nathan captured the energy of the evening behind the camera.

The event brought together an impressively diverse group of local businesses, each with their own stories and challenges.

It was wonderfully hosted by the brilliant broadcaster Georgy Jamieson, whose warmth and professionalism kept the conversations flowing and the atmosphere buzzing.

Events like these—and the organisations behind them—are essential to building a thriving local business community. ISSBA continues to do fantastic work in connecting business owners, encouraging honest conversations, and giving us all the chance to learn from each other. Attending gatherings like this reminds us how valuable it is to step away from the day-to-day, share our experiences, and leave feeling stronger, supported, and more empowered.
